Medical Center of Lewisville has one of the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) in Denton County.  Our Level III NICU is equipped with state-of-the-art, intensive care nursery technology and an experienced staff specialized in caring for premature or critically ill infants.  An experienced team of medical specialists, including neonatologists, perinatologists, nurses, therapists, and other health care specialists provide special care for these special babies.
 
In 2003, the Medical Center of Lewisville expanded its Women’s and Children’s Services.  The major expansion included a 16 bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a new Obstetrics/Gynecology Unit, Labor and Delivery Unit, and a Pediatric/Adolescent Unit.  Since this expansion, area hospitals have transferred numerous moms and newborns to the Medical Center of Lewisville for advanced treatment in our Level III NICU. 
 
The unit is a cozy, family centered environment with soft light, quiet sounds and gentle motions.  The goal of the department is to provide “special care for special babies”.
