Manometry: Esophageal & Anorectal

Medical Center of Lewisville utilizes several new options in the treatment and diagnosis of Colorectal and Gastrointestinal Disease including Manometry.  This is a method of studying the pressure wave forms seen in the GI Tract to evaluate disorders of peristalsis and sphincter function. Anorectal  Manometry is used to evaluate patients with anal sphincter disorders such as incontinence and constipation. It is also valuable in the follow up of those patients who undergo reconstructive surgery of the anal sphincter. These tests are also valuable in analyzing prior to rectal resections if a patient will be able to have effective control.
