Cardiac Services
At Medical Center of Lewisville, we realize that the onset of heart problems alters a patient's life in many ways. We're here to help. Our board certified cardiologists, critical care nurses, and rehabilitation specialists offer a full continuum of superior cardiac care. We provide a cardiac rehabilitation program, as well as a cardiac wellness program, for patients with heart disease and their families. For more information, 972-420-1526.
Cardiac Rehabilitation We take your health to heart! Cardiac rehabilitation is both and exercise and an educational program designed to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of patients and their families. The cardiac rehabilitation team consists of Exercise Physiologists and a Registered Nurse. The program is conducted in the hospital so the expertise of varied medical disciplines is readily available. Our program is nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) and received the 2002 American Heart Association Cardiac Care Provider of the year award. Many insurance companies cover all or part of the cardiac rehabilitation program as determined by your individual policy.
EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
More than 30,000 people are treated each year in the Emergency Department at Medical Center of Lewisville. From cardiac arrest to minor injuries and illnesses, we respond quickly and effectively to the healthcare emergencies in our community 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. The Emergency Department is staffed with board certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses that are highly-trained in emergency medicine, critical care, and advanced life support. H2U at Medical Center of Lewisville
People 50+ have unique health needs. That's why Medical Center of Lewisville offers a program called "H2U - Health, Happiness, You" which provides valuable health information, resources and experiences that empower members to manage their health and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. An H2U membership, which costs $15 per person per year, introduces you to health, social and informative resources. Members receive a number of benefits, including monthly newsletters and a bimonthly magazine with articles and tips on pursing a healthier more rewarding lifestyle. Membership also entitles you to benefits and discounts on national products and services which are listed on www.h2u.com. Local benefits include restaurant and heath club discounts. H2U has researched the 50+ health issues at a national level and identified five keys areas of focus: 1) Disease prevention, especially heart disease and cancer; 2) Healthy lifestyle, including diet and exercise; 3) Self-care; 4) Injury prevention, including fall prevention; and 5) Immunizations. Using interactive tools on the h2u.com website, members can assess their relative risk in each of these areas. H2U's "My Assessment" tool provides a detailed screening plan based on personal and family health history. WOMEN'S SERVICES EDUCATION
Maternity Orientation: A hospital tour is presented the first and third Tuesday evening of each month at 7:30 p.m. Registration is not required. Meet in the Main Entrance Lobby. If you do not plan to take childbirth classes at Medical Center of Lewisville, the tour will familiarize you with birthing options at our facility. Feeling comfortable with the hospital environment is an important aspect of your family's birth experience. Registration is required for these classes. Call 972-420-1036 for more information.
